Outlook can operate in two different modes, Cached and Online. There could be some performance issues working in Cached mode so please follow the steps below to change Outlook to work in Online mode.
In Outlook, click File in the top left corner.
Click the Account Settings drop down and select Account Settings...
In the Account Settings window that opens, double click your email address in the center section.
In the Change Account window that opens, verify the Use Cached Exchange Mode box is checked and to turn off Cached Mode, uncheck the box and click Next.
The window below will pop-up stating you will have to close and reopen Outlook to complete the change. Click OK and then Finish on the Change Account window.
Close out of any other Outlook windows and exit Outlook. Re-open to activate Online Mode.
